Vet Practice completes Vet Charity Challenge

Beech House Vet Challengenew

A team from Beech House have taken part in this years’ Vet Charity Challenge and helped raise over £50,000 for animal related charities.

The challenge at Pershore College in Worcestershire, consisted of walking, running, cycling and kayaking along with a few other mental and physical challenges and orienteering along the way.

The team comprising vets Sean Cleary, Michelle Coward and Joy Allen along with head nurse Sarah Cunningham were one of three teams entered by the Willows Veterinary Group. Out of 55 teams who entered the Willows did exceptionally well, the farm team came in second – one place higher than last year, the small animal team came seventh and the equine team twelth.

Vet Sean Cleary commented “The day was exhausting, but enormous fun. All the training together over the summer months really paid off. Because we had three teams entered there was a great sense of rivalry. We would like to thank our customers for being so generous with the sponsorship of the team. We are extremely grateful for all the kind support.

The charities benefitting from the sponsorship are Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, SPANA and Animals Asia.

Stockton Heath Festival (Posted July 2013)

Evie croppedWe had a great day out at Stockton Heath Festival. Ana’s face painting was very popular with the children and we also ran a ‘Guess the Cat’s Birthday’ competition. Both of these attractions raised over £70 which we are donating to two Warrington charities – Cat Homing and Rescue and Warrington Animal Welfare. We also sponsored the photography competition and understandably chose the theme of ‘Pets’. Thank you to everyone who entered – the standard was teriffic.

Award Nominations (Posted May 2013)

We are delighted to announce that we have received nominations in two categories of the prestigious Petplan Veterinary Awards 2013. We have been nominated for Veterinary Surgery of the Year and also Sean was nominated for Vet of the Year. The awards have been going for 14 years and are known as the ‘Oscars’ of the veterinary world. We would like to extend a massive ‘thank you’ to our clients who were instrumental in these nominations.
